Project SMART: Making Mathematics Meaningful is a Texas Title I, Part C summer math program created by the Texas Education Agency as part of the MEP Capacity Building and Curriculum Initiative Grant.

The objectives and activities of Project SMART were designed for eligible Texas migratory students enrolled in summer programs. The overarching goal of the project is to improve the math skills of migratory students through scientifically-based instruction, professional development, and parent involvement. It is used across Texas each summer.

Several states who receive Texas migratory students in the summer also utilize this program to support these students and help make their transition back to Texas easier. States that currently use the Project SMART curriculum include: Arkansas, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, and Montana.
